Thank you for subscribing! In addition to looking forward as 2025 began, I spent last month looking back and remembering three Churches. These sanctuaries were special points in my journey as a pastor, and they shaped my life and ministry in a host of wonderful ways. Also, as my country looked forward to swearing in a new President, I looked back on the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. Like the three Churches I owe a great deal to his noble example, which has further helped to shape me in wonderful ways.

As 2025 unfolds, I pray that you would look back and see the good things that have shaped you. May their memories bring you a sense of gratitude for the days now past, and may they bring you a sense of joy and excitement for the days ahead. And I hope that you would find some joy as you read the latest posts from my website, which can found in this newsletter.

While remembering the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., my country also swore in its 47th President. As all celebrations do, both brought hope and longing.

Sanctuaries are more than places of worship. They are meeting points where the sacred and secular converge and give hope.
