Dear reader,

Thank you for subscribing! You might have noticed that there were no January and February newsletters, and the reason for this is that I have been traveling. Last December, I was chosen as a final candidate for the senior pastorate of two congregations. So, I began this year on the road giving trial sermons and discerning where God was leading. I am now happy to announce that this month I accepted the call to serve as Lead Pastor of the American Protestant Church of the Hague!

Me ordering Dutch raw herring, and my son playing on the Scheveningen beach.

Many thanks to those who stood with my family and I through what has been a long season of transition since the closing of All Souls. Though we are sad to be leaving Switzerland, we are overjoyed at the new chapter that awaits us in the Netherlands. Speaking of new chapters, I also celebrated my fortieth birthday this month and officially became middle-aged.

My wife made a very delicious chocolate and Guinness cake for my fortieth.

Indeed, this season brings a new chapter for my family and I, and it has filled our hearts with joy and gratitude. It has also given us a greater anticipation for Easter, where Christians celebrate a new chapter that God has given to the universe. Through Jesus all creation is liberated from a bondage to sin and death, and given a second chance at life with mercy, grace, peace, hope, and love. I pray that you would feel a sense of newness and freedom this Easter, and that your heart would also be filled with joy and gratitude. And I pray that you will be encouraged and inspired by my latest posts which can be found in this newsletter.

Again, thank you for subscribing, and I wish you a Blessed Lent and a Happy Easter!

Blessings,
Scotty J. Williams
