Dear reader,

Thank you for subscribing! This month the Church has entered a season known as Lent, where Christians prepare for Easter by remembering Christ in the wilderness (Matthew 4:1-11). Like Him, we take up fasting and prayer for forty days, but the goal is not to do good works for blessings and forgiveness. As Paul once wrote, through Christ we have every spiritual blessing, and in Him we have redemption and forgiveness of our sins (Ephesians 1:3-7).

This year's first Lenten service (Ash Wednesday) at APCH

If anything, Lent is a time to rest in the good works of God, and to get ourselves regrounded in what matters most to Him. God's greatest concern is that we get more close to Him and become more like the Savior that He sent on our behalf. In this special season I pray that you would experience these things, and be refreshed as you fast, pray, and await the joys of Easter. I also pray that you would be encouraged by the latest posts from my website, which can be found in this newsletter in the following links below.

Happy Lent and many blessings,
-Scotty
